Curriculum Vitae
Dr. agr. habil. Ignacio Campino was born in Santiago de Chile in 1947. He studied Agriculture at the Catholic University, specializing in ecology. After obtaining his doctorate and qualifying as a University professor at Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen, Germany, he moved to the private sector.
Following several positions involving environmental protection activities in different industries within Germany and abroad, he was appointed Head of the Central Environmental Affairs Office of Deutsche Telekom AG in 1995. Today Dr. Campino is Vice President Corporate Sustainability and Citizenship with Deutsche Telekom Group.
Dr. Campino was also Chairman of the Frankfurt-Darmstadt regional organization of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) from 1996 to 1999 and represented engineers from the Regional State of Hesse within the VDI.
Dr. Campino also lectures in business ethics at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt, is a member of the board of trustees for the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), and sits on the National Committee of the United Nations Decade for Education Sustainable Development.
