Prof. Dr. Carlo Jaeger

Carlo Jaeger is head of the Department for Global Change and Social Systems at PIK, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and Professor for Modeling Social Systems at Potsdam University in Germany.

  

Background

JAEGER, Carlo Christian is an economist and sociologist with a long record in sustainability research. Born in Chur, Switzerland, he graduated at the Universtity of Berne, did his Ph.D. at J.-W. Goethe University, Frankfurt, and his Habilitation at ETH, Zurich. He is head of the Department for Global Change and Social Systems at PIK, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and Professor for Modeling Social Systems at Potsdam University in Germany. He is member of the Board of the Center for the Integrated Study of the Human Dimensions of Global Change at Carnegie Mellon University and Chair of the European Climate Forum. His current research interests concern the integrated assessment of climatic risks and the modeling of socio-economic systems.
