Biography
Sebastian Gallehr was born on January 30th, 1965 in Hamburg. After having passed the final examen he moved to Braunschweig in 1988 in order to start his studies in energy- and process-technology at the Technical University in Braunschweig, which he finalized in 1996 with a diploma. In 1997 he got married and since then he and his wife enjoy raising together their two children.
From 1995 to 2002 he was foundation partner of KreuzwegNeun EnergieConsult GmbH, Braunschweig. There he developed among other things a visual system for information about energy consumption for private households promoted by the German governmental foundation Bundesstiftung Umwelt.
In 1996 he established the business unit "Energy Management and Professional Services" at the company NEK Ingenieurgesellschaft, Braunschweig which he was managing afterwards until 1998. The focus of this business unit was the consulting of municipal and economic enterprises in the increase of efficiency of the energy consumption under economical aspects and the design of investment strategies in the energy sector.
From 1998 on he developed in his own association together with the WRE AG, Frankfurt a computer simulation programme of the energy- and money-flow in the pool-system of the liberalized energy market in England and Wales. Thereafter he took over as an interim measure the project management for all Europe-wide Renewable Energy production plants of the WRE AG.
From mid of 1998 on he was advising the management of the WRE AG in respect of the entry in the liberalized energy market in Germany and besides was responsible for the technical and energy economical project management for the nation-wide electricity distribution.
From May 2000 to May 2002 Sebastian Gallehr managed the unit energy stromvertrieb gmbh as managing director. unit energy stromvertrieb gmbh supplies electricity out of 100% renewables to private customers. Under his control the company was sold to the leading Dutch energy combine NUON.
Since March 2002 Sebastian Gallehr has been managing the European Business Council for Sustainable Energy (e5). After general management of the association, Sebastian Gallehr is representing in his function as CEO approx. 110 European enterprises in their requirements of a future capable energy economy on national and European level.
The company GALLEHR+PARTNER-Sustainable Risk Management, G+P GmbH was founded in April 2003 and is managed together by Sebastian Gallehr and Otfried Dorr. GALLEHR+PARTNER offers consulting, services, business development and IT-implementation services for risk management, energy management, renewable energy strategies and emissions trading to companies in the energy sector and energy intensive industries.
Since 2006 Sebastian Gallehr is elected council member of the European Climate Forum
